EU intensifies sanctions against Myanmar military council
The EU Council has imposed asset freezes and travel bans on six companies owned by the military council and 12 military leaders. It stated it will continue to support the restoration of democracy.
However, observers point out that the military council is evading Western sanctions by improving relations with China and Russia.
