US Has Resumed Sharing Intelligence, Says Zelensky

October 19

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on October 18 that the United States has now resumed sending important intelligence to Ukraine after a temporary suspension.

Zelensky said Ukraine relies heavily on US intelligence to detect Russian high-speed guided missile strikes in advance, and he thanked the US for restarting the sharing of information.

However, Zelensky warned that some US decisions—such as importing Russian diesel and granting sanctions exemptions on Russia—could harm Ukraine.

Zelensky also said that if the United States were to side with Russia and join it, Ukraine would no longer be able to hold its ground in the war.

Concerns have also risen that the growing rift between Trump and Zelensky over the past week could create even worse conditions for Ukraine as tensions between the two countries' leaders mount.

On the matter, President Donald Trump responded on Truth Social that the decision was made only to avoid a situation that would push Russia away from the peace negotiating table.

Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent commented that Ukraine is still receiving US assistance, but that this war must end only through negotiation, and that the notion that Ukraine must necessarily win is a mistaken choice.
