On the evening of yesterday, October 22, two men wearing masks on their faces arrived in a white Crown car at a construction materials shop in Ward No. 12, Lashio town, and robbed it at gunpoint, it is learned.

"All the money was taken. They said they had aimed a gun at them from the moment they came in. I heard the money taken was around hundreds of thousands of kyats," a Lashio resident said.

The construction materials shop that was robbed is also a shop owned by a Chinese national, according to statements by Lashio residents.

Robberies, armed robberies and kidnappings occur frequently in Lashio town, and on the evening of October 19 last, two gunmen on motorcycles also robbed the owner of Thiri Hein Gold Shop in Lashio town and his family, and about 900,000 kyats were taken; before the perpetrators were caught, another armed robbery like this occurred, it is learned.
