Armed robbery at Yati Hman gold shop in Kyaukme, about 50 kyats of gold and around 3 million kyats in cash taken

Two armed men robbed the "Yati Hman" gold shop on Pinlon Road, Ward (2), Kyaukme Township, northern Shan State, this morning, taking gold items as well as phones and cash before fleeing, it is learned.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. today, September 25, when two masked men arrived at the shop on two motorcycles, carrying weapons, and made off with the gold items inside the shop, it is learned.

The robbers took an estimated 50 kyats of gold items, along with around 3 million kyats in cash and 3 iPhones, according to initial reports. As the gold in the shop has not yet been precisely inventoried, the exact value of the loss is not yet known.

After the robbery, the two men fled on motorcycles, and investigations are still underway to arrest the perpetrators, it is learned.

In Kyaukme Township as well, on September 12, the "Shwe Moe" gold shop operating inside the town market was robbed, with about 70 kyats of gold taken, and the shop owner and another man were also shot with a gun.
