Consumer Affairs Department employee released after being detained by an armed group

Thanbyuzayat-Ye Road, Mon State - A staff member from the Mon State Consumer Affairs Department was detained by an armed group along the Thanbyuzayat-Ye road section and was released back on September 23, it is learned.

At around 2 PM on September 21, the individual was detained while an armed group was conducting checks on vehicles and motorcycles near Ywar Thar Aye Village, Thanbyuzayat Township, at the Zamaung Pin junction on the Thanbyuzayat-Ye road section, it is learned.

The detained person is Myo Thiha, aged 29, a junior clerk from the Mon State Consumer Affairs Department, and he was detained while traveling by motorcycle from Thanbyuzayat town toward Ye town, it is learned.

Because photos of him wearing the Consumer Affairs Department uniform were found on the phone carried by junior clerk Myo Thiha, he was detained, and after questioning, he was released back at around 3 PM on September 23, it is learned.
