Two people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of the 'Myit Swe' building materials shop on the bypass road in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, and one of them is an 8th-grade student, it is learned.

At around 8 p.m. on October 5, a group of youths arrived at the 'Myit Swe' building materials shop on the Pakokku bypass road, claiming they were going to check the guest list, and carried out the robbery, it is learned.

If there was no cash, they said to pay via Kpay, and they even demanded Kpay passwords and took the phones as well," a person close to the police told the capital.

On October 7, five people who robbed a woman at knifepoint of a motorcycle, a phone, and 300,000 kyats in cash were arrested, and upon investigation, it was found that two of them were involved in the robbery of the 'Myit Swe' building materials shop, it is learned.

"Two of the people involved in the armed robbery of the building materials shop are among them. Min Maw Win and an 8th-grade student have been arrested; one is still at large," a person close to the police said.

Because armed robberies occur frequently in Pakokku, some wealthy people have been moving to live in larger cities since years ago, it is learned.
