According to forecasts from the ICON Model, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), and the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), September 27 will be a period of greatly intensified rainfall, and the center of a strong low-pressure cell over central Thailand will move northwest and begin entering through Myanmar's southeastern border, according to an assessment by meteorologist U Win Naing.

Very heavy rain is expected to fall in Kayin State, Mon State, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyarwady Region, and Nay Pyi Taw.

On September 28 and 29, the rain will gradually shift northward and weaken in the south. On September 28, rainfall will still be strong in the central and southern areas, but starting September 29, it will continue moving northwest into Sagaing Region and the upper parts of the country, so rainfall in the southern regions will begin to decrease, it is said.

Between September 30 and October 2, rainfall will decrease noticeably and reach the upper parts of the country. Starting September 30, rainfall in southern, central, and eastern Myanmar will decrease significantly, it is said. On October 1 and 2, residual cloud formations will remain over Sagaing Region (upper part) and Kachin State, capable of producing moderate to heavy rain, it is said.

In Kayin State and Mon State, extremely heavy rain may fall between September 26 and 28, with rainfall amounts reaching 100 millimeters to 150 millimeters in a single day, and total rainfall within a week could reach up to 460 millimeters in Kayin State and 425 millimeters in Mon State, it is said.

In Bago Region (east/west/south) and Nay Pyi Taw, heavy rain will fall on September 27 and 28, and water levels in rivers and streams in townships such as Bago, Taungoo, Yedashe, and Pyay may rise, potentially causing flood hazards, it is said. In Bago Region (southern part), total rainfall within a week could reach up to 365 millimeters, it is said.

In Yangon Region and Ayeyarwady Region, heavy rain and strong wind gusts may occur on September 27 and 28. In low-lying areas within Yangon city, water may accumulate because drainage canals cannot handle the volume, and in coastal and delta areas of Ayeyarwady Region, tidal water combined with rainwater may flood farmland, it is said.

In Tanintharyi Region, total rainfall within a week could reach up to 320 millimeters, and due to a very strong southwest monsoon, extremely heavy rain may fall in inland areas, while along the coastline and at sea, squalls may occur and waves may be very high, according to an assessment by meteorologist U Win Naing.
