Two young men living in Zee Kone Ward, Shwepyithar Township, Yangon Region, left on August 25 to attend a job interview and have gone missing, with contact cut off for nearly a month, it is learned.

The two missing young men are 21-year-old Pyae Sone Phyo and Chit Ko Ko, it is learned, and the two had applied for work at a shoe factory, leaving around 7 a.m. on August 25 to attend the interview, and they have now been missing for a month, it is learned.

"They said they were going to apply for work at a shoe factory near the 14th-mile junction. They left the hostel saying their turn had come up for the job interview and they were being called. We still had phone contact during the day before the interview. They said they were about to do the interview so they would hang up and call back, but they never called back. The phone couldn't be reached either. They've been missing since then," a family member of Pyae Sone Phyo told the city desk.

Pyae Sone Phyo and Chit Ko Ko had sent a message to their friend at around 4 p.m. on August 25, it is learned, and after that there was absolutely no contact, it is learned.

"Around 4 p.m. that day, they sent a message to a friend saying 'You all shouldn't answer the phone either,'" a family member of Pyae Sone Phyo told the city desk.

The two, Pyae Sone Phyo and Chit Ko Ko, had to work alternating day and night shifts at their previous job, and because the factory alley was deserted, they were worried about the times they returned at night, so they went to interview for a job at another factory that only had day shifts, and it was then that they went missing, it is learned.

The missing Pyae Sone Phyo is a native of Yekyi Township, Kyonpyaw District, Ayeyarwady Region, and Chit Ko Ko is a native of Kyaiklat Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyarwady Region, it is learned.
