12 Ethnic Armed Groups Agree to Joint Military Operations
The Kachin Independence Army (KIA), Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), Arakan Army (AA), Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), People's Defense Force (PDF) and 12 other groups have signed a joint military operation agreement. They will cooperate more extensively than before in military, logistical and communications sectors.
Military analysts assess that this agreement poses a major threat to the military council. They predict that military council forces will suffer increased damage in northern and eastern theaters.
