In Myitkyina, Kachin State, a wife struck with an iron rod while her husband was grappling and fighting with a burglar who had entered their home, resulting in both the thief and her husband needing 10 stitches each, it has been reported.

Around 3 a.m. on July 7, in Myitkyina, the male homeowner heard a noise and went out to check, leading to a mutual grappling and fight with the burglar who had entered the house, according to sources.

Hearing the sounds of the struggle, the homeowner's wife grabbed an iron rod and entered, striking the grappling pair with the rod, resulting in both individuals sustaining head injuries that required stitches, it has been reported.

"When she realized a thief had entered, her husband and the thief were grappling. Then the wife hit them with an iron rod. While hitting the thief, she also accidentally hit her husband. Each had to get about 10 stitches. When the neighborhood reported it to the police station, they said there were no police at the station. They had to provide medical treatment through charity organizations and detain them until morning," a local resident said.

As a result of being struck with the iron rod, the thief required 10 stitches to the head, and the male homeowner also sustained injuries to his head and body from the beating, it has been reported.

After the incident, they went to report it at the Myitkyina police station, but since there were no police officers at the station, the injured were treated by calling charity organizations, and the thief was tied up with rope and kept at the ward office, according to sources.
