Chinese and Russian navies will conduct joint military exercises in the offshore waters and airspace near Qingdao, China, during the upcoming week, according to reports.

The exercises, scheduled from July 6 to July 13, involve Russia's Pacific Fleet, which has already arrived in Qingdao with one warship, one corvette, one diesel-electric submarine, and one rescue vessel, as reported by the Russian state-owned news agency RIA.

China's Ministry of Defense stated that the drills are an annual routine exercise aimed at jointly addressing regional stability and security challenges.
