Airstrikes cause civilian casualties in Kantbalu and Myinmu townships

It is reported that some civilians and some cattle were killed and injured as the junta carried out airstrikes without any fighting taking place in Kantbalu Township and Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region.

It is reported that at around 11:00 am today, September 28, three Gyro copters that took off from the Northwest Regional Military Command bombed and attacked Man Kyi Kan village in Myinmu Township, killing 2 cows and injuring 5 cows.

Similarly, at around 1:00 pm today, one jet fighter that took off from Tada U Air Base bombed and attacked Inn Lel Gyi village in Tha Nat Kone police outpost area, Kantbalu Township, resulting in many civilian casualties, according to local residents.

"They came and attacked without any fighting taking place. They also attacked with rockets. One house burned down. The row of shops in the village was also hit. Since they didn't expect it, they had no time to flee. There are many dead and injured. We don't know the exact numbers yet," a ground rescue worker told MyoTaw.

The Myanmar Lawyers' Council announced on September 14 that the junta carried out more than 10,500 airstrikes across the country between 2021 and 2026, killing more than 6,000 civilians.
