Min Aung Hlaing urges trainee officers to learn Lao language proficiently

Junta chief Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill visit to Laos, met with staff from the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Vientiane, as well as military officers studying in Laos, on the evening of July 4 and delivered a speech.

In his address, he stated that "Myanmar is advancing on the path of multiparty democracy, and that due to vote irregularities in the 2020 multiparty democracy general election, the military had to assume state responsibilities in accordance with the constitution."

"The junta chief keeps repeating over and over again, at every domestic event and on foreign trips, that he had to seize power because of vote fraud and that it was done in accordance with the constitution. He even mentioned it during his presidential oath. This shows that insecurity dominates his mind. He is desperately seeking legitimacy and is blatantly lying to achieve it," a CDM officer told MyoTaw.

Min Aung Hlaing alleged that the international community does not recognize his junta-led government as a legitimate government because it fears that doing so would harm its own interests.

He also instructed embassy and military attaché families serving in Laos to study English, AI technology, and computer skills, and urged trainee officers to learn the Lao language to become proficient.
