It is reported that a corporal from Artillery Unit (344) in Yekyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region, and a private from the 8th batch of conscripts fled together with one gun and one hand grenade.

It is reported that around 8 PM on September 17, two soldiers from the artillery unit in Yekyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region, fled with a gun, and the junta military and police forces urgently searched for them.

"I heard they broke out of the detention cell; some are also saying they fled while on guard duty. I can't say which is true. They haven't been recaptured yet. I heard they took one gun and one hand grenade with them," a local resident said.

It is reported that as of the morning of September 21 today, the two soldiers who fled have not been arrested, and it is also known that in the first week of last July, three soldiers fled from a junta military camp in Ngathaingchaung Town, Ayeyarwady Region.
