It is learned that the issue of officially permitting motorcycle riding in townships within Twante District, Yangon Region, was discussed at the third regular session of the Yangon Region Hluttaw, which is under the military junta.

At the third regular session of the Yangon Region Hluttaw held on August 31, lawmakers raised questions regarding the possibility of officially permitting motorcycle riding in Twante Township, Dala Township, Kawhmu Township, and Kungyangon Township, which are within Twante District.

The question raised by Dala Township representative U Than Oo and Hluttaw representative Daw Sandar Win regarding the possibility of officially permitting motorcycle riding was answered by Yangon Region government Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Win Tin.

Regional Minister Colonel Win Tin replied, "Because local orders prohibiting motorcycle riding have been issued in Twante Township, Kawhmu Township, Kungyangon Township, and Dala Township within Twante District, allowing official motorcycle riding again could create security weaknesses. Based on the responses and opinions of the relevant territorial security organizations, motorcycle riding cannot currently be permitted for security reasons."

He acknowledged that within Dala Township, revolutionary forces used motorcycles to carry out 13 shootings and bombings targeting ward/village tract administrators, village heads, and ten-household heads, and there were 9 assassination attempts on administrators.
