Two local fishermen missing after junta navy arrested, beat and threw them into the water while they were fishing from a boat

In Mrauk-U Township, Rakhine State, the junta navy arrested, beat and threw three local residents who had gone out fishing by boat into the water, leaving two local residents missing while one escaped, it is learned.
At around 10:30 pm on October 6, while they were out searching for fish in a boat, a junta navy warship stationed near Nga Khong Hpok in Kyaukphyu Township arrested all three of the local residents, it is learned.
"The three of them were arrested and beaten collectively on the ship. They said they were also kicked in the chest. Then they said they were told to just swim back without returning their boat. One of the three met another boat and survived. The remaining two are missing," a local resident said.
The three who were arrested and beaten by the junta are Ko Kut Kut Chey, 27, Ko Myint Maung San, 33, and Ko Ye Lin Aung, 23, from Ohn Chaung Village in Mrauk-U Township, it is learned.
Ko Kut Kut Chey, 27, survived after being rescued when he met another fishing boat, but the remaining two, Ko Myint Maung San and Ko Ye Lin Aung, have not yet been found and remain missing as of now, it is learned.
