In Hakha, Chin State, Deputy Director U Aung Pai of the Irrigation Department was entered and seized from his office by an unidentified armed group, it is learned.

Around 5 p.m. on September 14, an unidentified armed group of youths entered the Irrigation Department office near the golf course junction in Myothit Ward, Hakha, and seized and took away Deputy Director U Aung Pai, it is learned.

"He was transferred here with a promotion only about 2 months ago. He had no problems with anyone. That day, they came to the office on motorcycles and took the deputy director away. Until today, there has been no contact with his family or with the office staff," a local said.

The seized Deputy Director U Aung Pai of the Irrigation Department had only arrived in Hakha around the end of last September, it is learned, and there has been no contact with his family yet, it is learned.

In Hakha as well, on July 17 last, Deputy Police Major Zaw Zaw Aung, commander of No. (14) Security Police Battalion (Sub), and a member of the local police were shot at close range with a gun while they were moving around the town in civilian clothes, and they died.

Similarly, U Zin Min Htike, Staff Officer (Electrical) of the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department of Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region, was also seized by an unidentified armed group around 3 p.m. on September 3, it is learned.
