September 16
It is reported that Major Weikambhasoe, a fortune teller stationed at Nyaungkyo camp in Pantanaw Township, Bago Region, was killed after being hit by artillery fire.
At around 10 AM on September 15 yesterday, artillery fired into Nyaungkyo camp by the Arakan Army (AA) and PDF forces landed inside the camp, and he was killed after being hit by the artillery fire, according to sources close to him.
"He also ran a fortune-telling course, and he was famous within the military community. He died when the artillery landed during the event. His body was carried all the way to Shwetaung town and buried there. These days, a lot of soldiers are dying. They no longer bury them at the Okshitpin cemetery like before. They carry them to Shwetaung near Pyay and bury them there. They say it's because they're afraid news will leak out," according to sources close to the deceased.
It is known that Major Weikambhasoe was 37 years old at the time of his death, and he told fortunes online and also ran a fortune-telling course online.
"He also gave two-digit and three-digit numbers. Sometimes they were correct. It hasn't been long since he was transferred there. In Nyaungkyo village where he was stationed, there are almost no people left. Only the military camp remains. There are also many troops. It's also at the junction between Bago Region and Rakhine State. Since Light Infantry Battalion (16) is also there, the military has sent almost all of them there," a local resident said.
It is known that Nyaungkyo camp is only about 11 miles away from Nyaungchaydauk village where LIB (16) is based, and it is also known to be a guard camp of LIB (16), and it is known to be an area where two-sided clashes between the Arakan Army (AA) and the military junta are taking place.
