The military column of the junta, numbering over a thousand troops and preparing to advance from Magway town toward the Yaw area, has reportedly reached between Pwintbyu Township and Salin Township.

It is reported that around 6 a.m. this morning, September 19, they set out from Magway town along the Magway-Pwintbyu-Salin main road, and that the column may include troops under Military Operations Command (88), units based in Shan State, and troops from the eastern part of Mattara Township in Mandalay Region, with a strength of about 1,500.

"Four vehicles carrying four-barrel missile launchers, two vehicles with twelve-barrel missile systems, three vehicles mounted with howitzer artillery, four vehicles carrying various types of drones, one black sedan in the middle of the convoy believed to be carrying an officer, and vehicles carrying supplies were also included, along with other weapons and ammunition," said a driver who witnessed it firsthand.

It is also reported that local Pyu Saw Htee groups have been providing security along the road between Pwintbyu Township and Salin Township, and that another column is providing security along the Laung Shey-Setuttara road section, while around 200 junta troops have set up camp and are providing security at Taung Bo Gyi village on the Laung Shey-Saw road section.

"There has been no fighting between Magway and Salin. I haven't heard of any ambush attacks either. The number of vehicles is around 200. The soldiers are probably youths included under the conscription law. I didn't see many older people, just teenagers," said a driver.

Military analysts have assessed that the column may be advancing toward Laung Shey town, where the KPA (25) is based, and from there could advance toward southern Chin State towns such as Kyin Dway, Kanpetlet, and Saw.
