Naypyidaw Youth Detained by Porters While Buying Medicine for Mother

A young man from Lewe, Naypyidaw, was arrested by porters while going to buy medicine for his mother

A young man from Kyu Pin Gyi village, Lewe Township, Naypyidaw, was arrested by porters on the way while going to buy medicine as instructed by his mother, it has been reported.

Around 2 PM on July 9, Aung Kyaw Min, 30, son of U Thein Naing Aung from Kyu Pin Gyi village, Lewe Township, was arrested by porters while going to buy medicine at Pyinmana, according to reports. The arrest was carried out by the administrator of the so-called Pyinmana South Monastery Quarter and his team.

"In their family, he is the only son. He is the one supporting the family. His father has had a stroke and can no longer work. His mother has had diabetes for 15 years. While asking him to pay for firewood, she told him to buy metformin, her diabetes medicine, in Pyinmana. That day, the 9th, around 2 PM, it was raining heavily. He was arrested around 3 PM, and we only learned what happened when he called," a close associate of the detained Aung Kyaw Min told MyoTaw.

Aung Kyaw Min was arrested by Pyinmana South Monastery Quarter administrator Ko Than Win, ward head Ko Mya Thein, and their team, and was sent to the Dakhina Township General Administration Office to serve as a conscript on behalf of their village, it has been reported.

Aung Kyaw Min from Kyu Pin Gyi village, along with about 13 others who were arrested, were detained in a room for about 10 days before being sent to the Ywat Taw military recruitment camp, according to reports.

Similarly, on July 18, Than Yee Zaw, 26, son of U Kyaw from Kin Pun Tan village, Pyinmana Township, was arrested near the Boga Thiri bus terminal by Deputy Police Officer Nan Win, Police Officer Lin Tun, police informant Mont Lone Gyi (a) Kyaw Thet Oo, Moe Win from Sin Thay village, and Thet Thaw Win from Pyinmana Township Police Station, and was conscripted into the military, it has been reported.
