The Arakan Army (AA) has reported that a military airstrike on Sin Hnyin Wa village in Paletwa Township, Chin State, killed 5 local residents, including a 1-year-old child and a primary school student, and wounded 17 others, including 8 primary school students.
It is reported that between 11:09 AM and 11:16 AM on August 24, the military junta used two fighter jets to bomb a monastery and residential homes in Sin Hnyin Wa village, Paletwa Township, Chin State, killing 5 local civilians and wounding 17 others.
Those killed were identified as Daw Thanta Phyu, aged 70; Maung Myat Kyaw Naing, aged 10; Daw Khaing Khaing Soe, aged 46; Daw Than Win, aged 36; and Maung Htet Myat Kyaw, aged 1.
The injured include 8 primary school children under the age of 10, along with other civilians from the village, totaling 17 wounded.
Among the injured, 6 people, including primary school students, are reported to be in critical condition due to severe injuries.
Additionally, the airstrike destroyed 17 residential homes and a monastery building in Sin Hnyin Wa village.
Previously, on August 11 and 12, the military junta also carried out bombing attacks on Sami town and Paletwa Township, resulting in deaths and injuries among civilians, including students and children.
