Honda Motorcycle Showroom in Zalun Township Gutted by Fire, Losses Severe

A fire broke out at a Honda motorcycle dealership on Hospital Road, Nyaungpin Seik Ward, Zalun Township, Ayeyarwady Region, according to reports.

The fire started at approximately 9:30 AM today, August 27, and dozens of motorcycles in the showroom were destroyed, sources said.

"It's the shop of Ko Kyaw Thu Ra and Ma Aye Myat Mon on Hospital Road. When it happened, if people had helped together, we could have saved more than one or two bikes. Right when it started, people could have helped, but everyone was busy posting on their phones and social media. The loss was enormous right before our eyes. More than 30 bikes were lost. All of them were worth over 10 million kyats each," said a female eyewitness resident.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters and auxiliary firefighters from the Zalun Township fire station, using 2 fire engines and 2 water tankers, taking over half an hour to bring under control. The detailed cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
