September 7

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has held the top-grossing position in the U.S. and Canadian box office for six consecutive weeks, making it only the second film this decade to achieve such a feat.

The Sony-produced film earned $18 million domestically over the weekend, bringing its worldwide total to $2.4 billion.

In second place is Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," which has earned $13 million domestically and $1.63 billion worldwide.

With the success of these two films, this summer's Hollywood box office has reached its best level since the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of August 31, domestic summer box office revenue stood at $4.6 billion, up 26.1 percent from 2025. Rentrak projects it could reach as high as $4.759 billion by the end of the Labor Day holiday period.
