Under Section 11 (b) of the 2014 Printing and Publishing Business Law, which states that "if the publication is printed domestically, the publisher must submit the publication to the ministry in accordance with the regulations for registration and copyright procedures," and Section 15, which prohibits "any person from engaging in printing, publishing, or news media business without the relevant business recognition certificate," the violations are said to have been committed.
Furthermore, it is reported that BL (Boys' Love) and GL (Girls' Love) books, which are not in line with Myanmar culture and could dominate the thinking and emotional sensitivity of young people, are being published and distributed.
Legal actions are also being taken against printers and publishers who violate the prescribed laws and regulations, as well as bookstores selling illegal publications, it is reported.
