CDM Majors Dismiss Reports of Intelligence Units Deployed in Myawaddy as Implausible

CDM captains assess that reports of intelligence teams being sent into Mae Sot are impossible

Reports have been circulating that 15 special secret intelligence teams have been dispatched to closely monitor and gather information on the activities of revolutionary organizations, proxies of CRPH and NUG, CDM officers and staff, and armed forces residing in Mae Sot, a Myanmar-Thailand border town.

It is said that members of these special secret intelligence teams are to completely conceal their original identities, infiltrate Mae Sot by various means in disguise, and gather intelligence on revolutionary forces.

"Looking at the documents that have come out, it is most likely impossible. I see it as being carried out with the intention of causing suspicion to grow among the revolutionary forces. The part about them being able to do it is possible. The current incident is meant to cause panic among the revolutionary forces living in Mae Sot. Being careful in how you travel is the best thing to do," a CDM captain told MyoTaw.

"There are many things that are wrong according to office documents, and there are also many things that are wrong according to military terminology. The titles of positions and the names of offices are wrong. The office rank levels shown are also wrong. The table that came out is also not at all how documents are issued in the military with such a table. It is in a style as if written by someone who knows only a little about the military," CDM Captain Naung Yoe told MyoTaw.

"The Thailand-China Strategic Research Center was opened in Mae Sot on June 18. It is true that some Myanmar nationals are also involved as staff, as advisors and steering committee members at that office. That center is for preventing human trafficking, online fraud, and cross-border organized crimes. That office is not connected to the current matter of the revolutionary forces that has emerged," another CDM captain told MyoTaw.

According to the reports that have spread, the special secret intelligence teams said to have been dispatched by the military junta are to infiltrate Mae Sot and send information on the revolutionary forces in real time via a direct secret communication line to the Office of the Chief of Military Security Affairs (Sa Ya Pha).

Regarding this incident, there have also been assessments and statements by Thai-side intelligence teams and lawyers that it is impossible.
