One Major Seriously Wounded and One Dead After Fleeing Inspection by Revolutionary Forces in Natmauk Township

In Magway Region, Natmauk Township, on the Ywamon - Zarakone road section, while revolutionary forces were conducting surprise inspections, a vehicle carrying a Major and four members of the junta military attempted to flee when stopped for inspection, leading to an exchange of fire that resulted in one death, according to a statement from the Natmauk PDF group.

Around 4:17 PM on July 21, revolutionary forces from the Natmauk PDF were conducting a surprise inspection on the Ywamon - Zarakone road section when a Honda Fit gray car carrying Major Nyine Htut Zaw and four junta military personnel drove up. Upon seeing the revolutionary comrades, they turned around and fled, it was reported.

On the escape route, when Natmauk PDF comrades lying in ambush attempted to block them again, Major Nyine Htut Zaw reportedly opened fire with a pistol, triggering an exchange of fire.

"You could say it's between Natmauk, Kyaukpadaung, and Meiktila. While we were conducting security checks on the road, they came in, turned around, and fled. The comrades lying in ambush thought it was a civilian car and didn't shoot, but while they were trying to block them again, they started shooting from the car with a pistol, so an exchange of fire occurred. During the shooting, as they fled, they even fired three long-range shots back," a comrade from the Natmauk PDF told MyoTaw.

Due to the exchange of fire, Major Nyine Htut Zaw was seriously wounded, one junta military personnel was killed on the spot, and the remaining two also sustained injuries, according to information from sources.

Major Nyine Htut Zaw and the accompanying junta military personnel were reportedly serving at Signal Battalion No. 2, east of Gwaygone Village, Natmauk Township.
