Indian Education Minister resigns, cockroaches celebrate victory

In India, due to the leak of government exam questions, including medical university entrance exams, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who had been called upon to resign, officially stepped down from his post today, July 25, prompting joyful celebrations among protesting youth, it has been reported.

The protests, led by the Cockroach Janata Party, escalated across the country, including in the capital New Delhi, and with opposition politicians joining in, they became one of the biggest challenges for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government.

Education Minister Pradhan announced via social media that he had submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister to prevent anti-national elements from exploiting the situation in the country and to respect the aspirations of the youth.

At the time of Pradhan's resignation announcement, police in New Delhi used tear gas to disperse young protesters. Shortly after, as protest leaders were preparing to meet with government ministers for further discussions, the Education Minister resigned from his post.

Cockroach Janata Party leader Abhijit Dikshit declared the Education Minister's resignation a victory for the youth and celebrated, while activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike, wrote on social media platform X that it was "a victory of peace, patience, and perseverance."

Pradhan, aged 57, is a top leader of Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He had served as a minister since 2014, holding portfolios including Petroleum and Natural Gas, Steel, Skill Development, and Education, before becoming Education Minister in 2021, and has now resigned from his position.
