The military junta arrested and handed down long prison sentences to a gate manager and two clerical staff of the 'BURMA KING' express bus line operating in the Shwebo township highway bus terminal in Sagaing Region, accusing them of being PDF informants, it is learned.

On August 20 this year, 'BURMA KING' bus line gate manager Ko Zeya Win and two female clerks were arrested after security forces entered the express terminal, and on October 30, under the Counter-Terrorism Law, Ko Zeya Win was sentenced to 54 years in prison, while Ma Aye Myint Swe (aka) Swe Swe and Ma Theint Theint Thu were each sentenced to 34 years in prison, it is learned.

"The military council came in and arrested them on the accusation that if PDF members were on the bus, they were informing on them. They took their phones, checked them, and prosecuted them. They handed down 54 years and 34 years to each. They are issuing inhumane sentences with numbers pulled out of thin air," a Shwebo local said.

The military junta unjustly accused 'BURMA KING' express line gate manager Ko Zeya Win and clerical staff Ma Aye Myint Swe (aka) Swe Swe and Ma Theint Theint Thu, claiming that when departmental staff and family members rode on 'BURMA KING' passenger buses, they passed information about those people's travel details to revolutionary PDF forces and People's Defence Force groups, and imprisoned them, it is learned.
