MyoTaw: Man Who Drugged Children with Sedatives and Rice Whiskey, Forced Them into Homosexual Acts, Filmed and Sold Videos on Telegram, Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison

A man who drugged children, forced them into homosexual acts, filmed them, and sold the videos on Telegram has been sentenced to 40 years in prison

In Insein Township, Yangon Region, a defendant who drugged children, forced them into homosexual acts, filmed videos, and sold them on a Telegram Channel has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, it has been reported.

On July 27, the Insein Court handed down a 40-year prison sentence, according to sources. The case involves an 11-year-old student from Insein Township, Yangon Region, who, after school, went to visit a former classmate at the home of Myo Min Tun (aka) Phoe Thar, residing in Phoe Kan Ward, Insein Township.

Upon arrival, Myo Min Tun (aka) Phoe Thar reportedly told the children they needed to take vitamins, then deceived them into taking 10 sedative pills each and rice liquor, claiming it was a soft drink.

When the children lost consciousness due to the drugs and alcohol, Myo Min Tun (aka) Phoe Thar allegedly engaged in homosexual acts with one child, then forced the others to engage in homosexual acts with each other, filmed the videos, and sold them on Telegram.

"He gave the children sedatives, saying they were vitamins, and then gave them rice liquor, claiming it was a soft drink. When the children were unconscious, he forced them into homosexual acts, filmed it, and sold the videos. The children's parents found out and reported it to organizations. This happened a while ago," a source close to the judiciary told MyoTaw.

According to those close to the children, they had stayed overnight at the defendant's home for about 20 days during school holidays. During those days, Myo Min Tun (aka) Phoe Thar allegedly committed similar acts, repeatedly filming videos and selling them via a Telegram account, charging fees from members.

The case was filed by the Child Protection Unit (Yangon), and the Insein Town Police Station registered cases under (P) 169/2026 and (P) 170/2026, as well as Section 35 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law, it has been reported.

On July 27, the Insein District Court sentenced the defendant, Myo Min Tun (aka) Phoe Thar, under Section 35 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law to 20 years of hard labor for each case, to be served separately, it has been reported.
