Nearly 30 junta troops killed and 28 guns seized in fighting near Sin Khan Bridge
September 10
Fighting continues near Sin Khan Bridge in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, and within two days more than 30 junta troops were killed and weapons and ammunition were also seized, according to a Kachin military news source.
That death toll is the count for September 8 and 9, it is said.
"On September 8, 19 guns were seized; on September 9, 9 guns were seized. More than 30 on the military side were killed," the Kachin military news source said.
Regarding the situation of the warships, "two coming down from Bhamo and two coming up from the Mandalay side — four in total — were able to be destroyed in a single day," it was said.
In order for the junta to regain control of Bhamo, a flotilla including combat vessels came out from Mandalay on September 4, for the second time.
Three combat vessels and one mortar boat of the junta coming upstream from Mandalay arrived at Katha town yesterday evening, September 9, while another 27 vessels docked at Myat Taung and Maung Kone village, according to a maritime reconnaissance channel.
