A motorboat carrying 11 passengers capsized near Hlaing Kani village in Kya-in Seikkyi Township, Karen State, according to reports.

The boat capsized at around 9:00 AM on August 21 while crossing a lake near Hlaing Kani village in Kya-in Seikkyi Township, and all 11 people on board were rescued with great difficulty, sources said.

"They were heading to the Three Pagodas. Since the Mudon-Apik-Three Pagodas road was flooded, they left their cars near Hlaing Kani village and took a boat. The boat was small and overcrowded, so it capsized into the water," a local resident said.

Due to the boat capsizing, local residents rescued all 11 passengers with great difficulty, and while there were no fatalities, the passengers' bags, phones, and other valuables sank into the water and were lost, according to reports.

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding on the Mudon-Apik-Three Pagodas road, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through, and more than 20 vehicles with nearly 200 people are reportedly stranded in Hlaing Kani village.
