Despite reports to relevant departments and the police force about the construction of sturdy buildings and the operation of gambling rings in farmland near Milepost (220) on the Naypyidaw-Pyinmana Township, Kinywuntan Village bypass road, no action has been taken, according to sources.

The cockfighting, card gambling, and other gambling rings have been operating for nearly three years, with ringleaders including U Khin Maung, U Ye Win, U Wai Soe, and U Pho Soe, along with their associates. They are reportedly paying weekly bribes of over 1.5 million kyats to Deputy Police Officer Kyaw Thuya and patrol leader Ko Ko Oo from the Pyinmana Township station to continue their operations.

These gambling rings have led to an increase in theft and robbery compared to before. On July 7, shortly after 6 PM, a dispute broke out near a gambling ring between tuk-tuk drivers and individuals returning from the gambling den, resulting in a stabbing and a death, according to sources.

"At the junction near that gambling ring, tuk-tuk drivers U Tin Soe Hlaing, U Zin Maung Maung Lwin, U Kyaw Kyaw, and U Ye Htet Aung were joking among themselves. Myo Min Oo (24), A Ngal Lay (25), and San Shein (aka Zaw Tun, 38), who were returning from the gambling ring, thought they were being provoked and stabbed them with knives. All four tuk-tuk drivers sustained stab wounds. I heard one person died. I don't know the exact details," a local resident told MyoTaw.

Furthermore, gambling rings are reportedly operating in various locations: behind the Naypyidaw Council Office between Ywarthit Village and Aung Thukha Village; in Pyinmana Township at Gyi Inn Village, Kinywuntan Village, and Ywar Kauk area; in Zeyathiri Township at Kyun Yone Group, Ywarthit Village, and Thilegyi Group, Ban Gone Gyi Village; in Zabuthiri Township at Shwe Kyar Pin Ward and near the Sua Junction traffic light; in Uttara Thiri Township at Shwe Nant Thar Ward, Ngan Sat Village, and Ma Thein Village; in Lewe Township at Aela Town and Nyaung Pin Thar Village; in Dekkhinathiri Township at Shwe Inn Gyin Ward and Doe Nwe Village Tract; and in Pobbathiri Township at Thapyay Tan Village and Hlet Pyin Kwe Village.

Since the coup in Naypyidaw, gambling rings have been causing social problems along with continuous crimes such as robbery, sexual assault during robberies, and family killings for theft. However, relevant police and departments are reportedly accepting bribes from these gambling rings and turning a blind eye, according to sources.
