Two defendants who killed a man and robbed his motorcycle near the Shwe Ratanar High-End Market in Naypyidaw sentenced to death by hanging until death

Two men who killed a person and robbed a motorcycle near the Shwe Ratanar High-End Market in Zabu Thiri Township, Naypyidaw, have been sentenced to death by hanging until death and 10 years of hard labor, according to reports.

On the morning of July 28, 2025, near the Shwe Ratanar High-End Market signboard on Thiri Anawrahta (11) Street in Zabu Thiri Township, Naypyidaw, Ko Kyaw Win Tun, aged 27, who was riding a CANDA-110 motorcycle, was stabbed with a knife and had his motorcycle robbed by Ko Kyaw Htet Oo and Ko Aung Thu Win (aka) Ko Thu.

The victim, Ko Kyaw Win Tun, sustained stab wounds all over his body and died while being transported to Naypyidaw's 1,000-bed General Hospital.

The perpetrators, defendants Kyaw Htet Oo and Aung Thu Win (aka) Ko Thu, were arrested on July 30, 2025, and were prosecuted at Pyinmana District Court under Criminal Case No. 56/2025.

The case lasted over a year, and yesterday, July 20, the Pyinmana District Court ordered that the defendants, Kyaw Htet Oo and Aung Thu Win (aka) Ko Thu, be sentenced to death by hanging until death and serve exactly 10 years of hard labor.
