The military junta arrested the owner of the "Thuriya Nay Min" TikTok account on August 20, accusing him of supporting and campaigning for revolutionary forces including CRPH, NUG, and PDF, as well as spreading propaganda.
The "Thuriya Nay Min" TikTok account owner was arrested by the junta for posting content related to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the red and green colors on TikTok, uploading photos of General Aung San along with the history of Natmauk and General Aung San, posting a video clip of actor Kyaw Thu criticizing the government, sharing NLD campaign videos from the election period, and posting Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's flood relief trips on TikTok.
The "Thuriya Nay Min" TikTok account owner is identified as Ko Than Soe Oo (a) Nay Min, a resident of Ward No. 15, Hlaing Tharyar (East) Township, Yangon Region.
Ko Than Soe Oo (a) Nay Min was arrested at his home at approximately 5:10 PM on August 20 and is being detained at Hlaing Tharyar (East) Township Police Station, where authorities are taking legal action against him.
Similarly, on August 7 at approximately 12:10 PM, a man named Rakup (a) James Rakup from Sam Chaung Pauk Village, Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, was arrested and detained at Hmawbi Township Police Station on charges of spreading propaganda and incitement through his "James Yar Kot" Facebook account and "Anna Moe" Facebook account, and legal action was taken against him.
