A body art model who had been missing for 6 days after arriving in Belgrade, Serbia, on a leisure trip has been found dead, stuffed inside a suitcase and discarded in a sewer, according to reports.

Lyudmila Tarkova, a 28-year-old Russian national, had been missing for 6 days after meeting friends at a nightclub in Belgrade, and her body was found inside a suitcase dumped in a sewer, authorities said.

Local residents spotted a suspicious object in a muddy sewer and alerted police, who used sniffer dogs during the search and eventually discovered the body, according to reports.

At present, police have not released any details regarding the cause of Tarkova's death.

In connection with the murder, a 27-year-old Turkish national identified as K.E. was detained by Serbian authorities at Nikola Tesla Airport while attempting to leave the country, according to reports.

Serbian authorities initially believe the Turkish national may have killed Tarkova in the early morning of July 26 inside a rented apartment in the Bočar area.

Tarkova's body has been transported to the forensic medicine department, and the cause of death will only be known after an autopsy, according to local news reports.

Tarkova had traveled to Belgrade for a two-week leisure trip and went missing after telling family members on July 25 that she was going to meet friends.
